Many folks have been prescribed or purchased over-the-counter nasal sprays in the last few months for those pesky nasal allergies that come with spring and summer.  If Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray is in the mix for your allergy fight, be alerted that Apotex Corp. has had to do a voluntary nationwide recall of the spray. Glass particles have been found in the nasal spray, specifically identified as Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray, USP, 50 mcg per spray, 120 Metered Spray.  The impacted spray as an expiration date on the packaging of July 20, 2020.

Although no injuries had been reported as of the 1st of June, consumers are at risk with the affected nasal sprays of mechanical irritation from glass particles, as well as local trauma to the nasal mucosa.  Injuries aside, the glass particles have been found to block the actuator and cause the pump to malfunction.

I have a bottle of the generic Flonase that is affected by the Apotex recall.

Was having severe nosebleeds and headaches that got better since I stopped using the spray about a month ago.

Saw a specialist to investigate the cause of the headaches/nosebleeds. I even had to pay out-of-pocket for an MRI that wasn't completely covered by my insurance.

Looks like their product was affecting more people than I thought. Wonder if they knew about it beforehand, or if they were going to wait to see if it was hurting people.

I have used this product for almost a year. I have had constant headaches, and my nose feels swollen from the inside. I can barely breath during the day and I have not been able to sleep correctly for a while. I have made another appointment with my doctor once it was brought to my attention about the recall..

I have been using this product for a year now. I have been having headaches, nose bleeds, sneezing, nose irritations, and sometimes sores. I never knew why! I even had a surgery on my sinus! Even after my surgery I was using this products and was having headaches and nosebleeds. I would blow my nose or clean my nose because of the irritation and see blood! I had no idea what was going on!

I have been receiving this product prescribed for a couple years for use as needed and the past month i have had what i thought was a HORRIBLE sinus infection. I have not been able to breathe, smell, taste, sleeping has been nearly impossible. I already suffer from occasional headaches and migraines now they have been daily along with super sensitivity to light where i can’t even drive at night the lights make my eyes pour water and make me physically ill. I have had horrible nose bleeds as well as basically huge scabs coming out when i am able to blow anything out of my nose. It has abeen an awful last month with no signs of improvement until I just got a call today about the recall so I will not be using ANY of the sprays i have any longer in hopes it will help. But something needs to be done about this if anyone else has been dealing with what i have this past month or less knows the absolute misery i have been going through. What can be done? This is awful news and everything i have read makes it sound so harmless but THIS IS SMALL PARTICLES OF GLASS BEING SPRAYED UP OUR NOSES!!!

I've been using this product for years, haven't had any problems until a month or month and half ago. nearly used up my body of it,. not going to use this stuff,. what in the world is wrong with companies,. don't they have an end of line filter or something? This is sickening with the idea of what my migraines and nose bleeds could be from... sickening!
