A two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and South Expressway sent six people to the hospital on Monday evening.
One witness told Action 3 News, it looked like the vehicle hit nearly head-on. Four rescue squads from surrounding areas arrived on the scene.
Seven people in total were injured in the crash. One person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be pulled out by Council Bluffs Fire and Rescue. Two children, ages five and seven, and an adult were transported to an Omaha Hospital with critical injuries. And three suffered minor injuries.
No citations were issued and the wreck remains under investigation.
